Wednesday, June 24th part 2

9:40 PM

We got up early this morning. I had a sinus headache all night and didn't sleep well. We all got ready and headed out to Pikeville and went shopping again today. We had a great time. We ate lunch at Wendy's. After lunch we headed back to Hode, KY to Sue and Herman's. Sue and I worked on our computer's again trying to get some web pages set up. We ate supper and then Sue and I went for our last nightly walk. We walked further tonight than we have walked this week. When we came back by her house, there were deer in the field across the street at the apple tree. A car came by and scared them away and Sue and I kept walking. When we reached a thicket just passed the tree, I saw the flicker of white dart back into the bushes. We continued our walking and all of a sudden we heard the biggest commotion in the woods like something was fighting in there. Then the deer began snorting at us. We just stopped and moved very slowly on our way to pass them. We were successful and continued on our walk. When we came back by there was a little movement in the woods but no sign of deer. Every night when we walk, or just before we leave, the deer come up out of the woods on the Tug River and over to that apple tree to eat. Then they cross the road and up the bank beside Sue and Herman's house. Then up on the ridge behind there house over to a wooded area again. It is such a beautiful sight! We must leave tomorrow and we are sad to have to leave but excited to start the next leg of our journey. We have had a great time!
